Rear Pegs... problem

Ok.... so i put my rear pegs on, probably not the way i should've though. i welded a bolt to each side, then just slapped a washer and nut on... but they just keep coming unscrewed, and if i wreck it bends the bolt and the nut comes unscrewed, etc etc... so i guess my question is, how does everyone have their pegs set up? any suggestions?

Re: Rear Pegs... problem

you need a lockwasher on there also to keep it from coming undone. what you should do is pm gixxerguy and hell sell you some pegs and a hardened axle. dont put pegs on stock axle, they bend real easy

I drilled a hole in the gusset on the left side of the swingarm and mounted a peg there with Loc-Tite and a lock washer. You don't need a peg on the right. With the bolt setup, if it loosens up, your wheel doesn't fall off.

Re: Rear Pegs... problem

I used some BMX pegs drilled a hole in one to slip the stock axle through and then drilled and tapped the other. I have crashed it pretty hard and yet to damage the axle.

Where can I buy a "hardened" axle, stock length.

Re: Rear Pegs... problem

I used one hole from the chain guard hole and drilled another hole on the other side. I got pegs with threads in them , so usually I can tighten then by hand , and when they bend I hit them back with a hammer, and they been cool for a year, so far I just don't want to mess with the axle
