Ride all year? Inspections?

Got a few questions, i am definatly going to be living in cape coral by end of the summer at the latest. So, i noticed in Fl there are no vehicle inspection stickers (so i assume no inspections?), but alot of you talk about getting in trouble for not having mirrors...so what is the deal with all that? Are there inspections? and if not what do the cops let u get away with? I am wanting to buy a stuntbike that i can ride LEGALLY on the roads. What all do i need on the bike to have it legal? 2nd. How practicall is it to only have a bike or 2 and no car down here? I know it is warm enough to ride all year, but do any of you only own bikes? Thanks guys

This is true, no inspections. But cops get you on everything from mirrors to improperly mounted tag, no license. You also ARE NOT required to have insurance on bikes in fl. So you need everything a stock bike comes with to be legal. Mirrors, turn signals, etc. And as far as having no car, its cool, i did it for over a year. But during summer it rains here like everyday in the afternoon, then is dry by night. So avoid riding while its raining if you care about getin wet, and your set. But alot of theft here so make sure you have a safe place to park and lock it up.And theres alot of old poeple in cape coral so be careful they dont ru you over.My sister used to live there, definatley a small town kinda place. You should be cool to ride all year long down there with maybe a jacket every know and then during the "winter" months.Down there its like a average temp of low 70s. sometimes dipping down into the 50s and 60s during the day. can get chilly at night but nothing like pa!!!! have fun

Like insane said you dont need insurance on a bike but it is the smartest thing to have no matter what. A few of the guys down here have dropped the insurance and then a few weeks later the bikes gone or wrecked and your screwed and with all the old people and traffic during the winter, I have it and wouldnt go without it.

Again correct there is no inspection in Florida but the cops here are ****** alot of times and Cape Coral cops are worse than Ft. Myers and Lee county Sherriffs. I got pulled over not to long ago because my plate was or should I say is illegally displayed. Some of them dont say anything but the other will bust your chops for every little thing.

For riding all year round. Its great but last summer was my first year here and my friends kept saying that "oh it rains for about an hour every afternoon and then it dries up, and we are riding by 8." Well this past summer, I had never gotten wet so many different times while riding. I wouldnt go with just a bike all year round.
