I just got a 02 GSX-R 600 from a friend. I want to build it into a parking lot stunt bike but not sure if it will be good or not. I see everyone either has a F4I or 636, but no ones is rocking GSX-R's. Please let me know if I would be wasting my money hooking it up.

you posted in the wrong section and everyone has their own opinion on bikes...just like ford and chevy. i like my gixxer tho. everyone will tell you the subframes weak, theyre twitchy, and blah blah blah... Just make sure you get a stuntex oil pickup!!! I blew my motor trying to learn bp. Now i got the pickup and run half a quart over. I think 01-04 are the best years for gixxers from what i've seen and read. Rock whatchya got..

 

dont run the stuntex it will make you blow your motor

 

ran a 03 gsxr 600 for a little over a year , repairing /replacing the cracking frame and subframe gets old after a while, i like the bike better then my 06 600rr

 

unless your rolling long *** stoppies the stuntex is not going to blow your motor. (and even then i still haven't heard of anyone actually blowing it from that..) dont keep replacing a stock **** subframe with a stock **** subframe. thats common sense.... you break it get an OMR subframe..

 

the stuntex pick up wont blow your motor if the only thing you do is idle wheelies. so omr is makn subframes now . ? not here to argue with anyone stunted 00/03 gsxr for 6yrs and I believe I know them pretty well

I poped my engine on my gsxr with the oil pick up in doing stoppies. The second engine would of went the same way so i cut down on the stoppies.

It makes it worse if you run with idle and dont drop it down when doing stoppies. But saying that the engine would of gone long before without the oil pick up. So if i still had a gsxr i'd still have one. Just have another bike for stoppies

 

How far were you rolling you think?

Back then maybe 100-200ft but i'd spend a few hours doing nothin but stoppies. Used to run my idle about 3k

 

ims noob so does this only apply to doing stoppies or stunting all together?

 

omr doesnt make subframes. and nobody makes an aftermarket subframe for gsxr's. scrapeworks was the only one who did and i believe they only made it for 04/05 600s and 750s but theyre also out of business. as for the oil pick up goes, i never had a problem with mine, but i have heard quite a few ppl blowing their engines soon after installing them so, i guess i just learned not to ride a gsxr.

 

Yes, OMR does make subframe- I just picked one up. Not here to argue, just thought I would let you know. I have an 06 GSXR 1000 lowered stretched caged w/ round bar n subframe. I do not stunt, I just figure it looks really good with all extras. Ladies like it as well.. STUNT A F4I. Thats all these boys stunt here in CHICAGO. They tell me all you gotta do is grind the pick up or something, then flip it around and your set. You can use your stock pick up; just got to know what your doing. Good day.
