Old Drifting Vid
Re: Old Drifting Vid
i've drifted everything from a michelin road, maxxis supermax, pirelli supercorsa race compound, dunlop 208's, dunlop qualifiers, pilot powers, the older pilots.
it matters, but not really. you just have to find the sweet spot....qualifiers are a bit too sticky for my taste though. the best rear tire i've run is the maxxis supermax. grips awesome in fast O's, burns nice, and drifts like a champ.
the biggest factor by far is psi...i'll let yo uguys figure out what works the best
Re: Old Drifting Vid
the pavement at this particular spot is MINT. not dirty like the West coast comps i've been to. my other vids are also all clean pavement....it doesn't get much stickier than what you see there.

as far as psi we run 32psi for everything,i think that should be good enough
i just get tierd of guy's out there running a hard compound touring tire and everyone think's the guy is a drift god,not saying you teach, but i have had tire's or slippery pavement at time's and within minute's drifted every way possible no problem
Re: Old Drifting Vid
i'll have to try this maxxis supermax, ive also drifted qualifiers but like you said a bit to sticky, can get alittle sketch sometimes

and whoever asked 32 psi is good and is usually the magic number up front and otu back...i just like it a little higher for my personal style
damn you teach i will have to go and use someone elses connection now cant see vids at work. U and e dub were my inspiration for learning drifting I highsided one on camera up at silverstone raceway last month so hopefully post up the link when mcn finish the editing and can see me eat ****.
I started to learn on wet surface to get a feel for it then moved on to dry stuff I am still a newb so run low pressures at the mo like 17-20. thats it **** it i am leaving work early to go see this vid NOW!!!

You need to send me new drift footage to post! ! I know you've gotten better over the past year. Have you played with backing the bike into a drift yet?? Start the drift with a drift *hint*hint
