Question Military Workouts

Was wonderin if a few of you guys could help me out w/ a workout program. I hear that the military/basic training workouts are some of the best total body workouts to get into shape and to build power and strength & speed.

Can you guys give me a workout plan you guys do or have done.
I need the total program from running to basic pushups/pull ups=reps sets based on a 7 day work week.

I'm dedicating 3mos to this to give it a fair shot. I usually lift weights but I'm bored and noticed I'm a little stiff.

I appreciate this in advance....I'm looking for the whole body w/o not just what I listed above.

Thanks

i think we only did a 6 day workout we had sunday off, but we would alternate hard day/run day. Hard day could be anything from total muscle failure to a circuit training (10 stations 2 minutes and run 2 laps after each station)Basically we did lots of variations of sit ups/crunches and pushups. and for running we varied distance and speed drills, somedays we would do a run to the hills and sprint up and down the hills, others we did indian drills for a few miles. If you can go online look up FM 21-20 that is the army's PT manual. Every authorized exercise is in there you can set up a program for yourself, but it is more than just the PT that gets us in shape we get very little sleep and are constantly on the go, don't get much time to eat half the food we get and getting smoked throughout the day unless you want to drop yourself periodically at random times during the day until you reach muscle failure it is kinda hard to simulate the work outs we get. The marines here may have a better answer for you. But the best work out i ever got was from a friend who i went to the gym with every day for a summer-i never looked/felt better.

Re: Military Workouts

Its really not that easy, I think to see results you would actually have to go to basic. Try starting your day, 0530 under immediate stress, everything you do is rushed all day, throw in random excercises, anywhere from 60 push ups, to 120 jumping jacks and dive bombers in the mud, at the fastest pace possible, still under a huge load of stress. Dont stop moving until lights out at 2200. Do this everyday for 7 weeks, sundays you can get up at six, and not excercise until after lunch.

I'll agree wit that cuz if it weren't 4 the stress I don't think u would build as much that quick...but my advice is use creatine and protein shakes to help build quick!!!good luck

That crap works but it is ill advised because you lose as soon as you stop taking it. and you dont build as much at bootcamp, you arent trained for strenght you are trained for indurance. I went in max bench 325 and came out max 250 but alot more endurance.

Re: Military Workouts

If you want a military exercise, you're going to need someone who's going to push you far enough where you'll hate him. Doing such a program takes alot of discipline that you can't do on your own. Also you need the environment that we went through you don't have any choice how you conduct your day. I don't see yourself dropping and doing 50 pushups everytime you screw up everyday.

I want the major part of the exercises and I dont need anyone to push me, I'm self disciplined. I dont need the emotional factor or being trained to do what I'm told by a superior. So, you're right I'm not going to drop and do 50 or be under command, I can do the basic workouts though. I have seen some in Muscle Mags before that the editors were raving about.

I'm cool...Someone sent me the addy for the tatical w.o. Its all broke down.
Thanks...You know who you are and I appreciate it. Not sure you want ur name dropped.

So, I got what I needed guys . Thanks for the input.

Re: Military Workouts

I dont care how "self disciplined" you are. When you are far past your breaking point and you are so worn out it hurts to blink, you are not going to push your self to do another 50 diamond pushups or footlocker dips and still do an indian run on a 100 degree day with 100 % humidity, with little, suicidal, sand fleas munching at the back of your neck, with whet feel like 4 inch fangs. That is only possible when you have a hard core, satanic, Drill instructor spitting in your face as he kicks sand in your mouth, ears, and eyes, telling you that he is Satin and he has your soul now.

Never had so much fun. I just cant wait to return the favor on recruits of my own. :YEAH
