I started to dent my tank and I ****** wrinkled it and then it split (hole in tank now) is it fixable and if by any chance any of you have another tank or know of one I need one. Thanks...

did you split it in the center on the seam???/ if so its fixable find someone who can weld real good on a low temp...alittle bondo ..primer/paint

 

Yeah one is on the seam and there is one just to the right of the gas cap

anyone got a dented tank for sale? and will the jbweld really work (gas wont react with it?)

 

use quiksteel its safe for gas tanks, then jbweld over it so it holds better since its a clay like substance, then bondo, then paint... or clean with water and get it welded

 

quirksteel ??? Thats a nono ....I already tried that and it only lasted for two weeks and it went thru bondo which i put three hours on it.

yea like the guy says : JB WELD !! is the one of best to deal with gasoline then you should put jelly fiberglass to sand & little smooth then use the last layer on the smooth to fill up little chip.

or you can have someone weld it which it is highly recommend but hey JB WELD is the best.

 

use jb kwik.it dries in like 20 min.i always keep some in my toolbox!!

what up , marine tex from boaters world is the best **** ! I have used jb weld and it over a period of time started to leak. And any **** it fixable no matter where you put the whole.

 

ok i have 2 leaks in my f4i tank, i have used jb weld, and jb kwik 2 times each, sanded and cleaned with surface prep before hand....lasted month maybe at the longest...

the quicksteel, one time applications has been on for over a year....the only time it comes off is when the tank is hit(hard crash, re denting, deeper denting...) the trick is to push the quicksteel into the actual craks....


the jbweld....does not hold up to gas like quicksteel. and quicksteel is underwater useable and sand/paintable!!!

weld it for best results tho!

 

I love jb weld and zipties!!! yea jb weld or quicksteel.... ive used that to fix my radiatior at the spot with antifreeze spraying out just threw it on there smoked a cigarette and it was good as new havnt had a problem since and that was about a year ago..... it really does work wonders.... and yea thats somthing you should have at all times never know when you will need it

 

Pull the tank off.. drain it.. and take it to a shop and have it fixed. I would charge $20.00 for something like that.

 

No matter what you put on it if its in a spot where its gonna flex down from you sitting on it it will crack and give you Gas *** just buy a new one and save your time
