The Effects of Gearing???

I have a '01 Fri and I was seriously contemplating gearing it down? But i knda dont know how much to gear it? I've been told I should go 1 down and 3 up? But then again, I was told I should go 2 down and 4up? I guess im really wondering is, if i did go 1down or 3up or 2 down and 4up what would be the difference? Would it come up easier? HOw much top end would I lose on the freeway (cause i still wanna be able to go for semi-long rides on my bike) Any info you guys can give me will be totally appreciated. Thanks alot!

When i first bought my gsxr6 i wasn't sure what to do. You

should take it easy at first.......till your comfortable. Two teeth up

in the rear is a good start. You won't lose much top end,but you

will gain lots of low end. Than its all Downhill..

they're talking about the sprocket sizes on the bike. front and rear sprocket. not shifting through the gears.

Gear it down

Drop a tooth on the front sprocket go up 5 on the rear, way easier to do all jinds of tricks
