Re: Custom stunt frames
Hmm well considering that a generic mass produced chopper frame usually runs around $3gs (more demand for it as well) I dont see a sport bike frame being much cheaper. It seems like a bit of an uphill battle to start but a few years from now it could all be worth it. Get some proto types together. Have some credible reviews and mayb some mag attention then you'll have tons of people lusting for em. Cost wouldnt b that bad to compared to the advantage it could provide.
hell yea

ducati race bikes were steel tube up to a few years ago. steel is easier to repair . the amount of aluminum needed to be as strong as steel will actually be heavy as steel . when is the last time you have seen a roll cage or dune buggy made from aluminum. steel is cheaper
i got mine custom made

then the people who welded it didnt kno how to weld. i had an explosion proff welder weld mine. he welds 2inch thick billete alum for a livin. theres now way the pieces he welded on my frame are gunna break unless i ghost rode it off a cliff. and ive been known to put my stuff threw its paces

Re: Custom stunt frames
The frames on these bikes don't really weigh enough to matter. You put a bunch of reinforcements on steel tubing, it's gonna weigh the same if not more. I wouldn't pay too much more than $1500 on a bike specifically for stunting anyway, so I definitely wouldn't pay that for just a frame. Just like some of the other guys said before, we can buy frames after frames for the cost of a custom frame. Bikes improve too much to stick with the same one for too long so you might only go through 1 frame in the entire time you own it unless of course it's an 04-05 GSXR, that frame is a piece of ****!!!
Re: Custom stunt frames

Re: Custom stunt frames
So I used to read the 'Streetfighter' mag from the UK back in the day. I used to see tons of aftermarket tube frames for the 'Fighter crownd. Dont recall company names or price ranged tho.. (i'm useless here lol)
