do you have your fan wired to stay running and do you have your overflow bottle hooked up ??

yes and no
It will make it run cooler, 20 degrees?... probably not on a motorcycle.
I ran a 50/50 mix of water and coolant w/ the additive and a muzzy fan blade on my 02 zx6 and the mixture kept it cooler longer but get caught up in traffic in 95 degree weather and about 2 fan cycles is all it would take to overheat it.

Re: 636 over heating

Some run hot some dont.. there is no science to it that i know of yet. Try wrapping the headers with racing header wrap it should lower the engine temp a little bit. If it helps a little bit there is a few things you can do to lower engine operating temp. Just a thought i am no expert by any means

The problem w/ that is your boiling point won't be high enough and it offers no protection from freezing.
Thanks for adding that, all I was trying to say was don't run straight coolant. Sorry if I was misleading. You are correct coolant is a lube and is for protection.

Chances are, most the people that get a drop of 20 degrees, had shitty old coolant in and just needed a good flush..

I flushed my f4i, and filled it with a 20/80 mix of antifreeze/water.. Good nuff for me!

btw I have my computer water cooled, and I've used many different types of coolant.. Best I've found is PURE WATER.. It cools just as good as any over priced options on the market..
However you gotta have something in there for anti corrosion/anti algae/and lubricant for your water pump.
The boiling properties aren't THAT important, due to the fact your cooling system is pressurized, so it raises the boiling point.

As long as I'm not on rev limiter, or doing constant burnouts, my f4i stays below 220 with the fan on..

DO NOT REMOVE THE THERMOSTAT AND RUN IT OPEN. The thermostat provides backpressure to the water pump, and without it you will get cavitation to your pump, causing wear to the blades and higher temps as well....

Good luck!

take out the damn thermostat put it in a tin container with water and take a torch to it with a tepm guage in the water also and heat up the water untill it gets up to temp when the thermostat is supposed to open and if i dont open its ****** bad...replace it or take it out...mine was over heating bc the thermostat wasnt opening and i just took the ****** thing out till i got a new one and it runs under 200 constantly no problems since....common knowledge...
