Honda is the way to go and 50 stunt has a ton of quality stunt parts. Everything i have gotten from them has gone on real nice. xr50.com has alot of other parts too not stunt parts but anytything else you might need.

I've built several 50's. Honda is the only way to go. Check 50stunt, fiddylife and planetminis.com. You can easily get carried away and have a few g's wrapped up lol. Best 12 bar though is the turboglenn and you can find him on fiddylife.com

Re: suggestions to build a 50

kawasakis suck for 50's.. Honda is by far the best, ttr probably the second best

Your WAY better off buying a used one already built with parts... For $800-$1200 you can get a bike that already has a built 88 kit, stunt parts, suspension, big bars..

Or for $1200 you could buy a STOCK ONE and sink thousands into it..

I got my 50 for $1200 brand new, and put over $1800 in upgrades into it.. And I probably couldn't get more then $900 out of it today!!!

When you add up all the parts, it adds up FAST... Hell a CHEAP big bar kit will run you $100..
A good one will run $200++

If you want a big bore, you can start at 88ccs from dratv.com for $99, or you can go up to a $360 stage 3 88 kit with a 20mm carb and race head for $360 from honda trail bikes.. But with a 88 kit you also need a heavy duty clutch for around $75, and a oil pump is nice at $25

Add in suspension, you can just add stiffer springs for cheap, about $60-$80 for front and rear setup... But then you'll need some $30 derlin bushings for the forks, and when you bend your stock fork legs you'll need heavy duty fork legs for around $100

Stunt parts, stunt pegs from 50 stunt $50, hand brake setup can go cheap at around $35, all the way up to $100+..

Tires are cheap, dime a dozen, you can get IRC mb38's for $12-$15 a piece

12 bars, only way to go is the turboglenn bar (T-Bar for short) it runs about $75 shipped, Turboglenn from the 50 forums and stunt life makes them, they are tough, I've had one over 2 years now

If you have any specific questions on specific parts I'll give you more help. But thats pretty much a run down of what it costs to build a 50..

I have over $700 in my motor alone, with a stage 3 88 kit, hd clutch + hv oil pump, 4 speed tranny, and gearing..

btw heres some links to look at parts
