Chain length...is there a standard way to add/cut links?

Is there some given formula for adding links for a set amount of teeth gained? I'm just wondering how many links I need to add to my 108 length chain since I'm going up to a 52 tooth sprocket from stock on my F4i. The bike is in pieces right now, so I can't measure much of anything.

(A) Adding links is not smart and (B) A brand new chain in a box is I think 120 links and when I did -1/+10 on my F4i I had to cut 4 links. If I was you though I'd buy a new chain, but if you don't make sure you get the same pitch chain and get a press master link WITH the clip.
