xr wheelie vid

Just wheelies really... no tricks... working on circles is my next goal.

You need to fastfoward about 3:30 to the beginning for some reason??

Breckenridge, Colorado. Just up the road from where they shot scenes from Dumb and Dumber. Most of the film was shot in the town of Breckenridge.

Kinda. Didn't have room to bring it to NY, so I signed the title over to a friend for cheap... with the agreement that I could buy it back for the same price in the spring. I may pull it from the road and stunt it full time. Thinking about getting an old F2 for the street... just to use as a commuter. I know, I know... keep the XR as the commuter and use an F2 for stunting... but then I'd be just like everyone else. That XR makes me a little different, and I like the challenge of stunting a bike that's 28yrs old with a drum brake in the rear

that's the 83'??? I thought the 83' had a mono shock?? I had an 81' XL500 back in the day. It was my first big bike. Stepping up from a mini to that thing was quite the learning experience, but by the time I got my first CR125, I was much more comfortable on a taller bike. Those old Honda XL & XR's are tanks!!

Re: xr wheelie vid

were you able to mount road tires on the stock rims or did you get super moto wheels?

NO. The stock rims weren't wide enough for street tires. And I had to use the stock hubs because of the drum brake in the rear. The only rims I was able to mount to the stock hubs, wide enough to accomidate a street tire were BMW touring rims. However, I couldn't find a 17" front rim to match the rear like a traditional SM set up, so I went with a 19" up front. The overall outside diameter of the front tire is still the same as the back though because of a smaller sidewall. It doesn't look too bad, but you can tell it's an older dirtbike with street tires!

Thanks dude. I really enjoy that bike. It's something different from the sea of crotch rockets you find people stunting these days.
