The rebirth of a crunchy 50.

My bike is whipped. I stripped it down and it is going to the sandblaster and then the powdercoater next week. Big bore going on it too. I am sick and tired of getting whipped when we are racing around. I think I am going to get some billet rims for street duty too. :YEAH

Stay tuned for the new look.

Pics of the whipped piece. Rattlecan is NOT the way to go.

Should have painted the Baker Bros bar.

I am hoping the coater has the paint I finally decided on. Candy apple red with a crapload of flake in it. It's gonna look like a bass boat. :YEAH

Re: The rebirth of a crunchy 50.

It is at the sandblasters right now. Man, I am hoping I can have it back together by next weekend.

Any links for billet wheels besides the Douglas ones? Those are boring but priced right. I might just have to get those and have them anodized. The Sik50 ones are too expensive. Way too expensive.

With the blasting and paint I am hoping under $100. Probably more like $150.

I am having everything done too. Throttle housing, handlebars, bracket for my headlights,12 bar, frame, swingarm and forks.

Everything will be black except frame, forks and swingarm will be red. Unless I go through his color books and find something that I really like other than red.

Rattle can no good eh? I just did mine ... can't afford power coating. Also, what's the link to the Douglas billet wheels? I wanna check 'em out.

No link. Local dealer has them on the wall.

Douglas Billets..

http://www.douglaswheel.com/cycle/

and no way not boring at all.. not in my opinion. The Fast50's rims are boring.. the douglas rims are hot, like old school bmx mag wheel hot, and you dont have to take out a 2nd mortgage to score some!

To each his own..

They are probably what I will buy. Price wise they are a hell of a deal. If I get them anodized they will look better. :YEAH

Those are sweet. I think I'm going to have to add them to my Christmas list for '05. How much are they? That site doesn't list a price.

Re: The rebirth of a crunchy 50.

Bikefrk, what all did you do to your bike when you painted it with a rattle can? Did you have it primed? Do the primer yourself? Also, how many cans of paint did you use? Did you use clear coat at all?
