40 is already a hand cannon, now let's chop another inch off the barrel.... No thanks.

Re: Your opinion?

Colt Combat Commander modded. Great gun, concealed well but had some weight to it and I have no ass so my pants had trouble staying decent. Switched to the PT92 and shoulder holster dont care for that rig. I usually just keep it n the car anymore and only carry as a back up when hunting. As an everyday carry pistol u should consider an HK p2000. They feel awesome, conceal well, and are pretty light weight.

I'd hardly consider the .40 a hand cannon.

+1 :cheers

I have a S&W Chief's Special 9mm.....holds 7 and 1......it conceals nicely and has a spare mag if you need more than 8......I love my Dan Wesson .357 but it's a hand cannon and not a good concealed weapon!! :LOL

Maybe i'm just used to a weapon with less recoil. I shot a sub compact xd40 and it was crazy

Pimpus Maximus 01-06-2010 01:00 PM

Re: Your opinion?

Try a different .40. The glocks and xd's have somewhat of a weird recoil compared to others.

Hand canon .. lol come shoot my .460 XVR :yeah

I like XD's for sure But I dont think I would CC one if I could . Like I said before 1911 all the way with a p3at back up .. 1911's are just so slim & a all metal firearm with .45's in it just makes you feel nice & warm .. lol

Re: Your opinion?

True. I know many swear by a 1911, but I ride LONG distance, and agile, active, playing with my 180lbs dog, stunting (or atleast trying to) and the like. That is a lot of weight for ALL day EVERY day

Kel tec pf9. That is what I am picking up next.

Under $300, and easily concealable.

I wouldnt knock it till you try it .. in a nice IWB holster the slim line of the 1911 makes it disappear ..:shruggs but if you like plastic guns then there are lighter options . my P3at will be the only plastic firearm I will ever buy ( & im still thinking of selling it)

PS
tell some of the Bmore Dirt bike riders that a 1911 is to heavy to carry all day & ride with .. they will laugh . Dem boys hold down corners &deal with more shit then I would guess anyone beside LEO ( & maybe more then them)

True stroy - 2006
Johnny Bmore : hey isnt the 1911 a little heavy to carry with out a holster .

Ithey do not shoot .45 ACP. atleast not when I talked to Taurus the last time. And they are HEAVY. Like 38 oz. Thanks for the input but I think I'll pass

H&K P7m8. 9mm no hammer and extremely accurate. i carry one. also maybe look at a Colt 1903 .32acp hammerless. its an older gun and simple design you can field strip it in less then 30 seconds.

H&K

Kept it simple. Glock 27: +1 grip extension, TFO sights, ext mag release & slide lock, custom leather ITW holster w/ spare mag... works for my EDC.
