Question About 12s

ok i can do 12 but how do you get them back down if i hit the bar hard i can use the brake but it i try to slide it for a while i can not et the brake to bring it back down

Merk 01-09-2003 12:40 PM

you might be goin too slow...cause to hit that bar you go past the balance point and if your goin too slow you wont be able to bring it back...i think thats because the tires are so tall on a blaster and the brakes are kinda weak.....go faster!!!:apimp

I have the same problem on my CRF150.. If I'm going to slow.. theres NOOO way to bring it back down... To scrape I gotta be going pretty fast

I can't ride them like that... Can only scrape and bring it back down and ride it off in a 12... And yea, I fall off the back sometimes.. not in that picture though:apimp

that is a dope pic Nags. You gotta be in at least 2nd gear @ a good clip not to just stop & fall over when ur that high :laughing

what gear are you 12'n that blaster in that you cant get back down? Is it drum or disc on that thing? Should still be able to be creeping, hit the bar & keep going.

keep tryin! :apimp

I do everything on there in 2nd gear EXCEPT circles.. I do tight circles in first.

I dont know what you mean by "a good clip"

thats my slang for going "pretty fast".

on my TTR 125 - you could NOT do a high wheelie in 1st, you would just stop. Had to rev the shit out of 2nd, get some speed & try to drag that tail. In my case, then fall over.

rinse & repeat.

abad71camaro 01-09-2003 06:35 PM

ok guys i have been out playing to day if i do them in second and I scrap about ten feet and then bring it down , qustion how hard are thay to do in third have been a liltle scared to do them in third since the bar is about scraped through

oh.. thats what I thougt, but I wasn't sure... I'm probably doing about 15 when I scrape... I've done some really fast ones though.. probably too fast. Like 25-35mph  Drag 'em for like 10 feet that way. The tail is so worn down right now it's damn near impossible to scrape.

I can do 'em in first too, but it's just winding out the engine for no reason. I prefer 2nd.

Did y'all ever end up scraping the ttr?

nah, didn't have it that long - was TOUGH to get that high.

Tail would touch & I'd fall over. just like my 900! hahaha.

that was the end of an apehanger. trying to get my fat ass back on.

12's are easy in any gear, just cover the brake to get you back down. I can scrape wide open 4th on my EX like no thang.

** nags, i had to sell the TTR to get some loot to buy my 400 EX ** i'll buy another one.
