Rear brake on the bars? ON LOCK!

Rear brake on the bars? ON LOCK!

Here is a quick over view. My quad has a parking brake that is ran by a cable from the caliper to my clutch lever. When you set the brake w/ the lever a spring holds it. If you take the cable off the clutch lever - and attatch it to a different lever & perch, you now have a cable activated rear brake. Just attatch a spring on the caliper so that it snaps back. So simple it is scary.

Raining like hell, so can't test it out that good. I wont brag TO much untill im creeping bar wheelies one handed down the road.

Let ya know!

Here is a pic w/ the lever in the 1st position. I have it under the clutch lever now so it is easier to reach.

looks good for now but you need to figure out how to use a smaller lever . im sure it works awesome but it looks bulky as hell

Jay Carnes 10-13-2002 11:06 PM

oh yeah, that lever is only temp. I have to get a Decompression lever that I can use like 1 finger on. That is my clutch lever off my quad zilla , i needed something and stores arn't open today. Once i get a small lever, its on.
I want to move it to the right side (throttle side) so i can do some one handed tank wheelies. HELL YEAH! 12 oclock tank wheelies are mine.
-god.

ZANNMANN 10-13-2002 11:07 PM

what the hell is a decompression lever and where do i get one cuz it sounds like im gonna need one soon

Merk 10-13-2002 11:09 PM

looks awesome bro!:cheers

you tried it out?

Jay Carnes 10-13-2002 11:10 PM

a De-Comp lever, was used on like the bigger 4 stroke bikes that you had to kick over. You pull in the lever while you kick it over, it lowers the compression so you can actually kick it over. I just need the style of lever it was, very small and meant for 1 or 2 fingers.

Teamsquiddly, got any @ ur work?

ZANNMANN 10-13-2002 11:13 PM

if you find one see if they have more .do you mean just the lever only cuz i might be able to find one around my area as well

Jay Carnes 10-13-2002 11:25 PM

im gonna have my man gerry look @ brockton cycle center tomorrow. all you need is just a lever & a purtch. Friggin' easiest thing ever.

I'll let you know if i can get my hands on em, i'll grab ya one.

:apimp

Merk 10-13-2002 11:31 PM

hey if you could grab 2...id be very interested, or if you find a place that sells the materials i would be very interested in that info as well

:cheers (these smilies kick ass)

Jay Carnes 10-13-2002 11:46 PM

If i can get a few of these levers, i'll pick em all up. we can corner the market on pimp bar stuntin'. hopefully my boy @ my local yamaha / kawi' dealer stocks them so i can get the hook up.

Keep you dudes posted, if not im gonna check my local atv salvage yard or ebay or some shit.

thats pimp

ZANNMANN 10-14-2002 06:15 PM

thanx that would be awesome

Jay Carnes 10-14-2002 11:21 PM

he has a lever in stock, but the shit is hardened plastic. I have to try it out and make sure it won't brake. I might have to cut down an aluminum lever.

If the decomp lever works in plastic, i'll but all of em.
