CRF250X custom 12oclock bar This is what I was working on today, it's finally done, my welds are not the prettiest, but they'll hold.... I'm keeping the tail on because I use the 12bar to put my foot in for circles, I don't plan on actually scraping it. Handbrake is next, still waiting for some parts for that to arrive. But then again i do like tidy ones :D |
Re: CRF250X custom 12oclock bar
look like a meat clever 12 bar to me. But then again i do like tidy ones :D
lol, yeah, its the only way I could figure out a way to keep the plastic, luckily the plastic design has a slot in both side where I could slide in the flat steel for a 12bar, welding is definitely an art, I suck at it! |
Re: CRF250X custom 12oclock bar First couple circles with the new 12bar! gonna take a little getting used to, but I like it!! Re: CRF250X custom 12oclock bar lol do circles the size of a football field count as circles?! Other than that lookin good ;) |
Re: CRF250X custom 12oclock bar get some street tyres, and those circles will tighten bro!!! If you only wanted a place for your foot, you could of cut a hole in the rear fender? |
Re: CRF250X custom 12oclock bar I got a wr250 with street tires, I just need to make a 12bar for it, I did have some tighter circles today in the dirt (about 6 feet wide), my trouble is slowing them down more and dropping the bike in a little more I think.... I need more pratice, I've never had a 12bar to put my foot in for circles before, in fact I've never even circled left standing up until I got the 12bar. I thought about doing something to the fender instead of a 12bar, but I dont think that flimsy plastic fender would hold up to 155lbs. |

Re: CRF250X custom 12oclock bar good job! Nice bike. put supermoto rims and tires. |
Re: CRF250X custom 12oclock bar Good job man. Do you have any more info on the handbrake setup? I'm definitelly planning on getting a yz450f next year and wondering what I will need to install a handbrake. thanks! |
Re: CRF250X custom 12oclock bar for a handbrake you gonna need to checkout rekluse.com (z-start dual accuated brake kits) or fullthrottleinc.net (supermoto handbrake setup) those are the only 2 companies that make handbrake parts for supermoto/dirtbikes. I ordered just the master cylinder tap from rekluse for my bike, and I'm gonna use a sportbike handbrake. To order a specific part from rekluse , you gotta let them know you already have a full rekluse kit, and tell them the exact replacement part you want to order. master cylinder taps are expensive, like $80 plus shipping, ends up being around 100. I originally has put a sportbike rear master cylinder on my 250, but I lost a lot of brake strength, because the dirtbike rear master is a 3/8 cylinder, and sportbikes are 5/8, smaller cylinder (3/8) gives more strength for the smaller caliper, with less fluid movment, larger cylinder (5/8) gives less strength with more fluid movement for larger sportbike calipers. Some dirtbikes like the yama's have a 1/2 rear master, and midsized caliper. If you picky about how your brake feels, rekluse is probably your best choice. Your gonna have a bitch of a time bleeding that brake system too. |
Re: CRF250X custom 12oclock bar That's good info. Thanks man! |
