Valve adjustment. I finally decided I should check the valves on my bike. Almost two years of hard thrashing without doing it. Anyone have an exploded view of where I am supposed to stick the feeler gauge? The little manual that came with the bike isn't to helpful. I can't get the mofo to go in there like it should(I think). |
Re: Valve adjustment. should be very tight to get in, try using the side of the feeler. if you need a manual, pm me and ill hook u up |
Re: Valve adjustment. try this, when its put together, should go at the end of the tappet adjuster, no 11 |
Re: Valve adjustment. 1 Attachment(s) fukt up, here ya go |
Re: Valve adjustment. shit id rather pay 30 buks for the shop to do it lol ill fuk it up do you think its gonna run better if i do this havent done it in a year |
Re: Valve adjustment. 1 Attachment(s) that was a little unclear to me on the exploded view, and i know how to do it. i added a simple drawing for us simple minds hope it makes it easier to understand |

Re: Valve adjustment. Crap, that is where I was trying. Them suckers are tight. I need to get at them this week then. Thanks. |
Re: Valve adjustment. they should be kinda tight but you should be able to wiggle them with your hands .002 is where they should be set thats kinda tight and make sure you have it on the compression stroke or they will be really freakin tight. |

Re: Valve adjustment. yea, TDC = Top Dead Center .....seems since my BBK, no matter how many times i set them, i still get em tickin when it's warm ...argggggggggggg |
Re: Valve adjustment. pretty normal glen, especially with a skid plate. they really amplify the sound |
Re: Valve adjustment. same here, chatter chatter.. :) |
Re: Valve adjustment. nice, if the ticking is normal i'll just keep beatin er....i know the valves are set right, i always am listening for noises it seeems though...i need to get a skidplate before somethin bad happens to ma lil motor |
Re: Valve adjustment. oldschool guys like me always ran the exhaust loose, for reasons i wont delve into now , so mine always tick. everyone says you need to adjust your valves they re loose ,i just smile and say i know, i set em that way. |
