EUDORA, Kan. -- Officers said Thursday they'd arrested one of the most wanted men in Kansas.
Douglas County, Kan., authorities made a major drug bust in Eudora.
KCTV5's Matt Stewart reported live on "KCTV5 News at Noon" that officials in Lawrence, Kan., said it was a fairly large meth operation and they struck a serious blow to it Wednesday by arresting three suspects, including one of Kansas' 10 Most Wanted.
William Patrick Francis, 39, was wanted by the U.S. Marshals office.
He, along with Johnathan Charles Read, 22, and Kevin Daniel Reed, 24, both of Eudora, were taken into custody Wednesday on numerous drug charges, Matt reported.
Johnathan Read and Kevin Reed were not related, he said.
Officials in Lawrence showed KCTV5 News the items they said they confiscated from their home. The items included books explaining how to make meth and other drugs, all the ingredients to make meth, plus a loaded gun and money. They also said they confiscated a large quantity of methamphetamine, ephedrine, mushrooms and marijuana.
They did not find a lab, and investigators said they thought it might be tip of a larger drug operation in Kansas.
"Is it coming from somewhere else? Yes. Where, where that it is, I mean, are they a big player? This is a fairly good quantity," said Major Ken McGovern, of the Douglas County Sheriff's Department. "You know, is it still, are there other people involved? Sure."
