My First Scrape!!!

Just wanted to post that I scraped for the first time yesterday!! I don't have my 12 bar yet, so it was the tips of my exhaust instead, lol. Anyways, I have a question. I was trying my stuff in first for a bit, then I realized that it seems much easier in 2nd, doesn't come up as hard. anybody got any insite for me on this. (my gear is 20 up in the rear) Also, I noticed that everyone was clutching tank wheelies up from a stop at Turner days, but it sounded like you still had to be in the gas pretty good. Was that in 2nd, or 3rd gear? And my last question is that I haven't done a sit-down wheelie since last halloween, they've all been stand-ups, but now that I'm trying to learn the slow stuff, I've been sitting down until I feel a bit more under control, is this what most people do? Thanks again for any help. Hopefully everything went great in Topeka!!

Thats awsome you don't need a bar to learn to 12, I started out scraping my exhaust too, then I cut it down and started scraping my tail light. I know that you have a lot of gear, 1st gear is going to be very touchy at first until you devlope a smooth throttle hand. 2nd gear might be ok until you get a hang of, but if you stick with 1st you'll be that much more ahead in the long run. Tank wheelies, we usually do in first depending on where we are at, maybe 2nd, but that much gear you might be able to do 3rd or 4th on the highway. Sit down 12 is pimp, if you start out learning it like that stand ups will be no problem. Hope to see you at the show on sunday.

Re: My First Scrape!!!

I plan on making it out again hopefully soon. I'de like to have my AC working, and my trailer bought by then so I can bring my crunchy piece with me and play a bit too. Either way, I'll make it that way once I get some free time in my schedule.
