Gas Tank Help

I dented my tank in today and somehow managed to put a tiny whole in the damn thing. I siliconed it up and it apears to have fixed it, but i would like to know if the silicone will hold up ir if there is somethin else I should do? Thanks

Re: Gas Tank Help

how'd you get those creases in the tank? was the tank already damaged? cant see all that happening by just jumping on it!

Re: Gas Tank Help

The tank has a step up on the sides and when i jumped to push it down the sides came inward and creased it. you can see the step up in these pics. with the squared of edges the sides came inward before they went down and caused the crease

I might go if I can get a ride out there. I got no ride other that the bike right now. Think you guys would have room for a passenger if I could get out to the metcalf spot

Re: Gas Tank Help

when you use that jb weld or if you use the 3M 8115, make sure the area is free of gas and use a grease and wax remover to clean the surface before putting anything on it. good luck!
