Re: Dells Ride

Went on a ride last year through Mt. Horeb and around those parts with some people. The guys up front gave me the best advice ever - Ride within your limits and we'll always wait for you at the stop signs and turns. Works for me.

I like the back too - you have time to react to any idiots in front of you.

Re: Dells Ride

Not too sure about the drama last year, i missed it. the MSB guys are a pretty good bunch, just seems like a misunderstanding about the whole purpose of the Dells ride. MSB has alot of guys that run Expert class at BHF,
and post times in the low 1.10's, so you can eliminate the squid factor from them. Most the others have various amounts of track time too. I understand both sides of the argument, But i must say this is a cruise and a good time to boot. I was involved in the planning of the first ride with Riley so i know what its all about. Its just when they go on "rides" , well, its a group of guys that do race and ride at a pace that reflects their skill level.
Maybe it should be advertised as a "sportbike cruise" to eliminate confusion
cuz it seems to me thats where all the poop started/came from. I will be there this year, after missing the last few, with a passenger who's never gone to this and i expect it to be fun as it usually is; lots of bikes, lots of scenery, and abunch of people having a good time. Thats the way i remember the ride and the reason why it started. Lets hope its safe.

Yup Yup...

MSB only has 4 Racers on it...
Oddly none of them are Backing a Racing Pace

Fastest of the racers on that board... Does 1:12 laps (he doesn't street rider)
of the remaining 3...
One is the guy that sets up and leads the Ride.
One is a Guy that will not ride on the street over the legal limit at all...

And then, there is me

Re: Dells Ride

I could go with about 1inch of brake lever left after it snapped. I can't find a brake lever for an 03 600RR anwhere besides the dealership and they're kinda pricey.

I'm thinking about leaving my wife for the weekend. Tell her a little white lie like.. I have to work. But them I'm afraid I'll be one of those that crashes and she'll find out what hospital I'm in and wait till the early morning and dress like a nurse and put an airbubble in in my I.V..... I think I'm rambling.

Y'all be safe and drink 3 pitchers for me.

If any of you don't know who I am, I ride a yellow Triumph RS I'm the parts/sales manager at Motorcycle Performance in Madison, they call me WJ. Well I hope to meet a few more of you, I've met a few already cool group of guys/gals I don't get down around Janesville much being the hours I work. I sold a few of the DVDs and got great response looking forward to next one. I just missed you guys on Fri night at amoco showed up right after you took off. I do ride with some of the guys/gals from MSB but not to often. Their a good group of people that like to ride fast all the time. But like I said earlier I enjoyed riding with the group the last two times I rode on the Dells ride and am looking forward to this years ride. I'm also one that likes to ride either in the middle or the end, I also have a chatter box I know that the talk abouts work on channel 2 on the chatter box.
Well later
WJ
Hey buddy I know you! The Givi Rack rocks. Thanks. I'm gonna try and make it if I can find someone to golf for me, got leagues that Sunday.

I can one finger the brake I rode it down to Janesville for the day. Just as long as I dont' have to stop really fast, it works.

As a matter of fact, I called up the Milwaukee cycle salvage and had Billy Jo pick one up for me and they gave her the a lever for an F4. It looks like a 954 RR lever might fit. I'll try that next. But I need to give her my lever to compare so she doesn't come home with the wrong one. Not her fault, though. MCS should know.
