Re: will this sport ever go anyplace?

I remember when Triple Xtreme talked GANSTA every chance that had, and now they have layed off of that a bit and they're acting more professional. But they used to have pics of themselves on their website holding GUNS, and I've been to Pure Bred Riders(PBR) website and they definately still have pics of them holding GUNS. Now whats that all about...................

Why does everyone have to have so much "HARD"????

I dont think riding a stolen bike is a "style" sounds like a lazy punk not willing to pony up his own doe, and is destroying someone elses bike.

Maybe my moral values are to high

Sounds like they're signing their own death certificates... Gangsta is right... drive by shootings make about as much sense.

Re: will this sport ever go anyplace?

It started in the streets, and it will always be in the streets. People are going to have their own style and do they own thing. If you dont like it, you dont have to do it.

But you guys did have street footage in your dvd too...

I've met a few of these people, and thought they act"hard"or whatever, they still are cool and down to earth *** peeps...

And nobody in that thread has a "hot bike"... The kid that started the thread is deciding to take it off the street, and ride lots only. So he's thinking about dropping his insurance to save money...

Skaters have skate parks all over the place, but how often do you see a video with nothing but park footage?

I'm with Goose on this one - WTF is with all the GANGSTA attitude? I just don't understand what it has to do with stunting.

I remember the first time I watched JD2 and saw the section on Pure Bred Riders - I didn't understand what all the guns had to do with stunting.

But back to Ryan's question - If I were a sponsor and were given that thread and that thread only as a representation of the sport, I'd invest my money elsewhere. Sounds like WAY too much of a liability... from that thread, it sounds like any one of those riders could end up in jail or dead at any time.

hey J i don;t think ryan is really talking aobut the street aspect of it, yes we rock the streets we would be hypocrites if we dissed that. but i think what ryan is talking about is the gangsta look and "act" i've talked to lots of potental sponsers that are intrested in your look i talked to one jacket Co. that wouldn;t sponser star boyz because of the FTP thing......its just all in your look and the words that come outa your mouth more ppl are looking at that then ppl think. i know i can't stand watching that part with PBR in (i thinks its) judgment day 1 or 2 or what ever movie it was i think they look pretty rediculess but thats my opinion, and the lil kid in DME's video that was stupid too a 12 y/o kid saying **** every otehr word thats kinda sad.......but agian thats my 2 cents.....

Re: will this sport ever go anyplace?

as far as stunting in the US goes didn't all this start in the inner city streets?
so the whole gangsta and gun thing kind of makes sence to me. getting back to the roots and all.

Re: will this sport ever go anyplace?

Kinda looks like the stunt world is in fact 2 seperate worlds. 1 world is the hard core street rockin riders, 2nd world, the peole trying to turn it into a sport. I am in no way gonna take anything away from the riders who prefer the streets and ride just for the hell of it. I was at the wigsplit fest in chicago that CBO put on. THese guys are friggin awesome. Along with IWBS, they tore it up. THe only thing I dont like is the gangster image. This too is only my preference. I came from the same grimmy *** **** in the hood that some of these riders came from. . I have since moved from there and would like to forget all the **** Ive seen and done in the past. I dont understand why anyone would want to live that way. This maybe the father in me speaking to.

I guess it boils down to doing what you want to do and what makes you happy. The sponsers are gonna sponser who they want. If they want the clean cut style then they will sponser the teams that fit that bill.

Re: will this sport ever go anyplace?

I dont really understand the point of this post. but i say do what you wanna do and dont worry bout what everyone else is doing. if you wanna tear up the streets go do it if you wanna rock just parking lots and tracks thats cool too everyone has there own style and if you dont agree with it well tuff **** thats the way **** happens
