GOOD NEWS: I got my video camera and camera back, with all footage and tapes intact!

Bad news: My computer has been handed over to a detective and apparantly theyre reviewing my software because they say i have some "pirated" stuff on it. I hate my life.

All this because of a few traffic tickets.

 

too bad theres not a self destruct mode for pc's..

yeah accually i have this thing that you just have to plug in and if its within like 5 feet of a hard drive it will zero it out. I'll never use it on my computer probably i just use it on Mini DVs.

yeah its a demagnatiser(sp) you don't want your wallent in your pockets if your holding it, thats for sure, it will zero out all your credit cards

 

You know what I'm talking about. And it's not about them charging you, for all the pirated stuff, it's about you getting you're video camera and other camera back which is your personal property and you spend a few dollars on them. I'm not one that would go along with the cops on anything. Their wrong with what they did to start. And we know who to blame. Plus you should know me better then that to be happy about a friend getting into trouble with the ***hole cops.

I could be wrong but, if the search warrant didnt have pirated software listed on what they were looking for then they might not beable to charge you for the offense. I would talk to a lawery, you didnt just give them permission without a warrant right?

 

that is correct... it was illegally obtained evidence and is unadmissible in court! they aint got ****

 

are you guys serious?!?! time to call a lawyer tomorrow maybe something good will come of this....

 

most definately, like blingin said, they have to have it listed in the original search warrant for the computer, they cannot legally present evidence for software piracy under a search warrrant for "stunt video." Even a mediocer lawyer will be able to get you out of that BS.
