Neal.....hate to tell you, but if Progressive wants $3000 a yr., than you really aren't gonna find anything affordable no matter where you look. I tried the same thing with my 9.

I called everywere and the best I found was state farm 42 a month full coverage on a 900rr. I have my trucks insured through allstate so I called them first 4100 year! I dont have anything but my bike insured with state farm so give em a call.

yeh state farm is super cheapo. I got all vehicles through them and they quoted like 460 a year full coverage, and like 230 a year liability alone. BUT they ended up calling me back and saying they couldn't insure because of my driving record. sooo if you have had more than like 25 ponts in the last four years they prolly won't insure you. But if you got a decent record they shuld do the bike pretty cheap as long as you got the truck with them. TAKE NOTE most insurance companies will not cover a passenger and will cover very little of you medical.

i don;t care about what it does for me thats why i have health insurance, and it would jsut get liability if the bank would let you.

no i am luckily still a named driver on my parents policy and i insure my truck along with their four vehicles. so that helps a little but only by like $100 a year. I don't think they will write a bike unless you have your other auto with them too. I have heard alot of other poeple who got good deals through state farm.

State farm will insure just your bike... as long as you got proof that you have a different vehicle insured for the last six months, whether through them OR someone else... just dont lie about your driving record they frown on that ... then again why wouldnt they..

Here neal try any of these:
http://www.fernet.com/
http://www.dairylandinsurance.com/
http://www.geico.com/insproducts/insprcycle.html
http://www.foremost.com/PRODUCTS/motorcycle/
http://www.berglundins.com/
http://motorcyclebynet.com/insurance.html
http://www.nrma.com.au/pub/nrma/moto...le/index.shtml

Try some of these but State Farm has excellent rates, just tell them you are shopping for rates and they can work with you just tell them what you can afford and also make sure your detuctables are at least 500.00 because no one should claim anything under 500.00 anyway because your rates will go up and probably will drop you anyway, I know some people have 1000.00 detuctables too to get cheaper rates. Good luck neal

Yikes!!!!! What do you have on your record? (you havent been drinking and driving have you...... j/k)Heres another option that I have seen people do in the past, is your dads name on the loan? If so have him insure it under his name as primary rider and you as a secondary. They will ask you who will be doing a majority of the riding and you say him but you will occasionally ride it. Of course he would have to be cool with that but just an idea that people at the shop do. Or just get a policy to prove to the bank you do when you do the bank loan and cancel it after this season (a couple months), thats what I did for my first sportbike and they never checked after the intial loan paperwork. Good luck.

wow i can't believe state farm wanted that much. I have been with them since i bought my 95 900RR new. I switched from american family since they woudn't cover the bike and actually my yearly insurance went down overall by switching to state farm and adding the bike....so it was worth it to switch my car there at the time. I now pay about $230/year full coverage with state farm. which agent did you call??

no insurance is needed if you just pay cash too. like a signature loan.
