Why are people "shocked" when this happens

http://www.gazetteextra.com/crashes_fatals091307.asp

Read the part about the Beloit township accident. What business does a 91 year old have driving anyway? It says he turned left into the path of a Foley electric van. I've seen these vans before, and they are big! Big and red. How do you miss a big, red van coming at you? What if that was a motorcycle, or a group of motorcycles for that matter? I can't count how many times that I have had elderly drivers pull out right in front of me, or cut me off while on my motorcycle. Plus they are in some big Buick or Cadillac, and I'm on a sportbike, so you do the math and figure out what would happen in a collision.

I have no sympathy when accidents like that one in Beloit township happen. I really don't! I'm not trying to be insensitive......its just common sense that these people shouldn't be behind the wheel. Yet people are still "shocked" when this stuff happens!

My wife knows the driver and said you would think he was only 60 by the way he acts.

I can name some 20 year olds who have killed people/themselves while riding/driving so age isn't always factor.

thats true kyle but it seems like alot of elderly ppl are over cautious driving way to slow and when they pull out and drive down the road....a few weeks ago i was trying to back a semi in to the door that we were gonna unload it at the store in madison that im working at and we were "trying" to hold traffic in the parking lot so he could back in when this old bag in her buick took no regard for me trying to stop traffic and damn near ran me over.......but no one else had a problem with stoping

I think all the old people should be rounded up and put in some sort of "camp". We can surround it with large walls and barbed wire so none of the old people can escape.

Fellow youngies! We have to act NOW and we have to act SWIFT! If we try hard enough we'll be able to exterminate all the oldies!!!

WHO'S WITH ME???
