Leaking Gas

I came home to a puddle of gas under my bike on Friday night. Took the air filter off to find about an inch worth of gas puddled up in first cylinder. Red said something about a float being stuck. I have no clue what it is or how to fix it.

grrrr I just wanna RIDE. Now I have to get something fixed.

Dammit.

Re: Leaking Gas

drain your oil and check that cylinder again if its empty then tap on your float bowls of your carb with the handle of a screw driver that works sometimes

Re: Leaking Gas

ok - dumb question time - can you SUFFICIENTLY drain your oil without a center stand? Remove the plug, let most of it drain and then hold it upright and let the remainder of it drain??

Re: Leaking Gas

It'll drain, but it won't be as good as if it were draining out of a hot engine.

Re: Leaking Gas

Could anybody tell me what makes the float stick? Went to look at the bike again last night and when I took the air filter off, the gas was all gone and everything looked normal. I know I still gotta change the oil (and filter) but does this mean the float is unstuck?

Re: Leaking Gas

if the gas was gone from the tank that means is probly in your engine but i dont know just kick the bike over and start it on fire that will solve all your problems. well it should anyway
