Anybody tried Maxxis Supermaxx tires?

I ordered a Maxxis Supermaxx front tire for my R6 today. It gets good reviews in magazines and on the net and is cheap. I have Maxxis tires on my mountain bike right now that work great and I have used Maxxis tires on dirt bikes. I have tried michelins, metzelers, bridgestones and dunlop 207s and 208s on other bikes. I thought I would try something new. Anyone else try them or have an opinion either way? I am aware that Maxxis is owned by Cheng Shin, but the two brands are completely different.

I will only run Pirelli or Metzeler's. You get what you pay for in the price of a tire.

Race take offs are fine for burning off but are bad news otherwise on the street.

Re: Anybody tried Maxxis Supermaxx tires?

Note to self: conduct informal internet poll BEFORE purchasing tire. I already have pilot race tires without a lot of use on the bike, I just thought an actual street tire would be the way to go. If this tire was on the CBR900RR when it went over as shown in the VMC video, I can see why Kyle doesn't like them.
I had a Metzeler on my last F3, it worked great, I just thought I would try something new. If I don't get this Maxxis, I will go back to a Metzeler.

Mike: I will call you to discuss the tire. If you already ordered it, no big deal.
