moving to Indy

wassup yall..

Im moving to indy in July and I'm looking for a truck.. was wondering how important 4wd is around these parts. Everyone I talked to out here says Im gunna need a 4wd, but if I can get by w/a 2wd I'd prefer to save the cash.

peace
jimmy

btw
ne of you know any pipefitting/welding jobs going on right now?

Re: moving to Indy

no u dont have to have 4WD it snow's pretty good sometimes but you will be ok w/ 2WD unless your into mudding or somthing. Hell i used to drive a 92 mustang GT w/ 4:10 rear end all year round.

If your moving form somewhere warm your gonna be pissed when winter hits.

Re: moving to Indy

my friend is a pipefitter. i will ask him if they are looking for people. 4x4 is nice to have, but they keep the streets clean in the winter. save your money for the stunter!

There's plenty of jib's in the indy area, just gotta look for them.....
I drive an escort if that tells you anything about needing a 4wd...

Re: moving to Indy

ya, i drove my g35 all winter without probs. my suburban is 2wd also. 4wd is probably the best for you, or awd, since you arne't used to snow. those of us that drive in it all the time get by with 2wd no problem.

also, it depends on how deep in the city you live. in the country where i'm at you either have to drive really good or own 4wd.

so basically, truckwise, 4wd is the best bet, but you should be ok if you get hte hang of driving in snow with 2wd.

my guess is job or cost of living. ever been to hawaii? way crazy expensive to live there.....hell, anything you buy will already cost you air freight so imagine the cost on all stunt parts.

Re: moving to Indy

I drove a V-6 camaro for 7 yrs. Only got stuck once. Just gotta be smart, and 90% of people that drive in snow forget how to do it the very next year anyways, well I'd even say they forget how to drive in the snow between snow's.

Side note: I'm now back in Indiana, just north of Muncie, hopefully I'll be able to make some weekend rides in a month or so after my fam's farm gets everything in the ground.

Re: moving to Indy

My girls going to grad school on a scholorship out there. It is pretty expensive out here. She's listing here 2 bedroom condo for 415,000... So I'll be out there for the next two years.
I've prolly spent $400.00 in shipping parts for my bike, that was a good call.

That is because if you listen very closely while it is snowing you can hear IQ points dropping!!!!!
