So, I've never been to Montreal or Canada for that matter but Montreal just became an option as a place to live for the summer. It would be myself and two other girls. Whats Montreal like? Does anyone know of a bar called "Pub on the Dock"? Is it a good bar? Either way I'm heading north for the summer but I'm not sure if it is going to be Montreal or Newport RI....

What do you all think?

Seriously, Montreal is a cool place, great party city too. BUT, I can't stand the french. If you don't speak it they can tell, and people get all pissy with you over it.

I was wondering about Montreal because the guy who owns Pub on the Dock said that if i came up there this summer he would give me and my two girlfriends a job, and we all though it would be a cool place for the summer, however none of us speak french....

 

If it's right in Montreal....your english will do fine!!!

Mnay events; The Canadian Grand Prix, International Jazz Festival, Humor Festival, International Fireworks Competion, theres so many things happening it would keep you busy for sure!
Bars & Nightlife are amazing from evening until 3am and then hit the afterhours Girls are amazing (if your looking for a third ! )

Theres a good european vibe in the dtown area, and if you work there you dont need to speak french, as many of us can speak both.

We also have a big bike community and can join many rides organized by different sites www.stunt.ca www.m4e.com www.s2r.ca

I assure you, its great !

I'm french.. Ontario french though. But that is true the quebecers are weird.. lol (and I AM allowed to say that because I have family there!)

 

Celeste, Montreal is awesome! I go to school in Ottawa and I have a lot of friends who go there just for the weekend just for fun..or for the SHOPPING! (amazing stuff downtown..) Montreal is always busy, always stuff to do, great place to live. There are many english people too! I have a few friends that also moved there from Ottawa. You might not like the winters there but Summer will be a GREAT time to be there.

There's a really good club to go to on Saturday nights..Jet Night club.. forget what street it's on but all I know is that it's no cover, no lineup and free open bar for the ladies until 12am!
