Freestyle World Series
U.S. Freestyle riders will be featured in the 1st Annual Freestyle World Series in three Australian cities!
Starting on May 1, 2004, the World Series of events will see the USA versus Australia versus Europe in an OPEN INVITATION World Series format. Select US Freestyle riders will have their expenses covered by the newly formed US Freestyle sanctioning body (former XSBA-USA staff), with over $20,000 (US) in purse money up for grabs from "Oz Freestyle". There will be 3 shows in Queensland, Sydney, and Melbourne Australia with the first event on the weekend of May 1, 2004.
The tentative list of US Freestyle riders to compete and alternates currently include: 2003 Nat'l Champ "Crazy" Dan Jackson, 2002 Nat'l Champ Matt "Thew" Blankstrom, "Hitman" Ronnie Hurst, Chauncy Vieira, Darius Khashabi, Anthony D'Orsi, Patrick Stephens, Derrick Daigle, Matt Gorka, Ronnie Giovelli, Eric Hoenshell, Kyle Woods, and Ricky Payne.
The World Series will focus on Individual Freestyle and Long Endo competitions with other featured shows to include Team Freestyle and Sickest Trick. Each rider will earn points for their respective team, and team points will be kept along with individual points to determine Champions in each category and an overall Team Champion.
If riders wish to compete in this 1st ever tour "down under", Oz Freestyle has offered to help arrange freight for their bikes from show to show within Australia, as well as assist with internal travel arrangements and accommodation bookings. (Not pay for, but help arrange at the riders expense.) Individual riders or teams are welcome to enter.
More information to come at a later date. Stay tuned to Stuntlife.com and USFreestyle.com for more details as they come available.
