handbrake setup

hey, i'm building a thumb brake setup for my 929 and was curious how you have yours setup.

here are alist of the things i'm running into.

i'm wanting to do highchair coasters, so i would want the thumb brake to be on the throttle hand side so i can pull in the clutch without problems, but that also screws me for doing other things later like highchair slow stuff where i have to work the brake and throttle the same time.

also, i was planning on usinga dual caliper setup but i'm not sure exaclty how to go about this. thanks for your help and input.

haha, i wouldn't say "ready", but wanting to. I gotta get the setup. I like highchairs and coasters so i figured i could give it a shot. I gotta get my brake setup done first and get some practice using it.

hoping i might have this trick in my bag by the end of next summer.

i'm feeling a lot of crashes coming, but hey, you live you learn. it seems like a cool trick and with a good handbrake setup shoudln't be impossible to perform. if hte handbrake fails, i don't even want to think about that....

Talk to Gregg V from geared up, he has a sweet setup and is only running one caliper......makes it alot easier to change your tire.

hand brakes and dirtbike handlebars are for people who have completely mastered their bike and got bored with it

once you do that then u can rock a thumb brake like

Darius
Motopshychos

thats just my opiion
ya, that is good advice and i had a feeling you were going to say that. i don't really trust scraping a highchair anywhere i practice. i don't even like doing bar tricks there very often because the ground is uneven and it doesn't lay flat...i can save normal bar tricks but if it was highchair i have a strong feeling it wouldn't hit square and it'd **** me up. here's a nice clip of the drain that jumped out in front of me last time.....haha

High chair coasters is something Ive thought about and have even felt the balance for it---- My whole style revolves around coasting and I dont know when but I want to lock down a few other things before I start playing around too much... HAND BRAKES ARE COOL---there are some pics of my setup on my site Good luck!!!

Re: handbrake setup

Definatly you need to have the Hbrake a seperate system from the original back brake. That little valve that you can buy is a piece of ****. I am one that always will overengineire than go the easy way out.
Mounting it on the throttle side will open the door for some new moves--
But I feel its to more use on the left.
I may switch it one day to see how it feels-- if its good then you will see me with 4 levers.
Mabe a remote control brake and clutch for no handed coasters and combos
thats light years away though. We will be stunting on Jetson type ***** by then!!! LOL

No Valve. Do you want to know how? or disagree all together. + you would only have on the left side Clutch + Hand Brake + Mand brake on right side!!

Re: handbrake setup

Since you have a double caliper on now it is possible actually you could put a 4th lever also if you needed it. Dont know where maybe remote as in mobile w/ cable of course like a hand one for when one is standing.PM me & I will help you or tell you how. That way you could call me I do not feel like typing all of it.
