Sugarloaf, Maine 2004 | Snowboard/ski trip
Here is all the important information.
This trip is set up along with 2 others each year and run by my father, this is a trip designed for people in the New York area. The group is mainly NYC firefighters and their family but anyone is welcome to go. Last year he had 200 people attend. It is truely a blast and Sugarloaf is the best or damn close to the best skiiing/snowboarding on the east coast.
Since the trip is designed for people that all drive to the mountain, if you are interested you will have to do a little arranging on your part. I went on this trip about 5 times while living in Florida and it is still an awesome trip for the money even after adding travel expenses. (Shop for your best airfair!)
You would fly into Portland Maine on Saturday February 21st and stay at a local hotel that night in order to be in Maine already on Sunday morning. From there you have a few options that I will add detail to later but to sum it up you can rent a vehicle for the week or take a shuttle 2 hours to and from the mountain. Renting a vehicle my cost a little bit more but you have transportation if you desire. I have never left the mountain once there, so a car really is not nessesary.
The condos have full kitchens so you can stop at the last town before you get to the mountain and buy food, cereal, beer, etc. for the week to save money instead of going out for every meal which is nice.
Condo room assignment is set up by my father, and they area typically 2 or 3 rooms per condo. Normal is 6 - 8 people a condo depending how many rooms each has. Nobody has an individual room so going with a group of friends or at least a second person works best, and an even number always makes it easier.
Rentals should run ABOUT $80/week for skis and $100/week for snowboard. 1/2 day lesson is INCLUDED for all 5 days, so take a morning lesson and ride all afternoon!
This is 5 night lodging and 5 lift tickets for $299!
You also can get a 1/2 day pass if you are there early enough on the arrival day on Sunday!
Contact me here with any questions, I know alot about the trip, especially the travel part of it. Important stuff or stuff I can't answer I will get back to you on or just advise you to get with my father if need be.
If need be I may change or add info to this original post as more info is available.
Hope some of you make it, this is truely an awesome time.
Later!

I am planning on it. Hopefully I can split some costs with somebody else. Should be a blast.
Oh yeah - Lessons are for pansies. I don't need 'em and plan to kick some *** out there.
BTW - I have never seen snow before. Ever.
