Ever Get Owned by a 95 Z28 with a Corvette engine?

I was out in Orlando leaving a friend's.. Was coming to the top of the hill. Roads were wet had the tops off windows down... Rice came flying by me about 90 or soo while I was doin 45 .... next thing i know i was thrown into the median through 3 trees... one of which came through the windshield and hit me....I started sliding sideways into oncoming traffic and kept the car from flipping and hitting anybody else. I was staring a guy down in a suburban like a dear in headlights and soon as he was in fron of me the back left tire hit a curb.. broke the rim and spun me around.. I stopped the car in oncoming traffic turning lane and pulled myself outta the car..... car it's fully repairable.. I am ok.. Head, neck, back and knee all need t be x-rayed.. My left arm may possibly have nerve damage through the spine.. But AM ok. Here are the pictures... EMS and Fire and Rescue said I shouldn't have walked away alive much less untouched.

It doesn't look as bad as it sounds... but you have to be standing on top of it to really see why they said I shouldn't have walked away..... I never thought it was this bad until this morning when I really took a look at it... I just hope you all see this and realize how careful you should be even when you are just cruising along minding you're own business.

nobody touched me..the car didn't get away from me.. IT was weird. The FHP officer said from what it looked and sounded like an air pocket developed between the 2 cars b/c I had the tops off windows down.. the rice had his windows up... and we were at the top of a hill.. with divots in the road and water from the rain.. soo he said I was possibly hydroplaning through the street and the air pocket pushed the car into the median...... The tires never touched the ground till I was sliding sideways into oncoming traffic...

First off glad your ok. Is that a new car that you got?

Second if that is your car and its being repaired do yourself a favor and get rid of those generic tires. Invest in some Kumho tires. They are inexpensive and do great in the rain or dry for that matter.

Damn, that does look bad.

BTW - The 95 Z28 has the LT1 engine, similar to the Corvette but not the exact same. Same deal for the new LS1 engines.....345hp in the 'Vette, 305hp in the Camaro.

True dat. However the Ls1 camaros have more than 305hp. I have seen many dyno at 300 at the rear wheel stock. I think chevy underrated the Ls1 camaros. Its probably close to 325 or so.

Yeah, I spend time on LS1.com harrssing all the punks who say they outrun bikes all the time. It is defintely underrated but GM says 305hp.

I hear that, everyone be careful. Just think what could have happened if you were on a bike.
