To polish a frame effectively, start by cleaning it thoroughly. Then, use fine-grit sandpaper to remove imperfections. Apply a polishing compound with a soft cloth, using circular motions. Finally, buff with a clean cloth for a smooth finish. For specialized equipment or advice, consult box build manufacturers.

To polish the frame of your 1998 Suzuki GSX-R (SRAD), follow these steps:
  1. Clean the Frame: Wash the frame thoroughly to remove any dirt or grease.
  2. Sand the Frame:
    • Start with coarse grit sandpaper (180-220 grit) to remove any rough spots or imperfections.
    • Progressively move to finer grits: 400, 800, 1000, 1500, and finally 2000 grit. This will smooth the surface and prepare it for polishing.
  3. Use an Air Tool (Optional): You can use an air tool like a dual-action sander to speed up the sanding process. Just be sure to use the appropriate sanding pads for each grit.
  4. Polish the Frame:
    • Apply a metal polish to the frame.
    • Use a buffing wheel attached to a drill or an air-powered tool to polish the frame to a mirror finish.
  5. Final Touch: Wipe down the frame with a clean microfiber cloth to remove any residue and to bring out the shine.
Always wear protective gear such as gloves and safety glasses while sanding and polishing.
