hey i have a frame with a grounded out vin wich means it prob was stolen at one time who knows but i was told that if i build my bike and take it down to the dmv with proof that i bought this frame just like when you buy one from a dealer they will restamp it and issue you a new title does anyone know if that is true or some bs???

 

did the person you got the frame off of tell you that

 

no a dealer told me that

 

altering vins is a felony so unless you have proof that this has been documented your bike will be taken and you will go to jail. blank dealer frames and altered frames are not the same
