it definitely has to be clutched up. this bike is super heavy. do a search on how to do wheelies on here. i never did them in 2nd gear on this thing; always in 1st. i beat the bike up pretty bad and ended up selling it to my cousin for dirt cheap. he still rides the streets with it. it can take abuse; it's a ****** tank.
