2003 cobra...or late 90's c5?

cobras faster, vette handles better. cobra has back seat, vette..fuckkkk it, its a vette!

I don't know a ridiculous amount like some of you do about either car, but yet am in love with both. Which would you get?

cobra and a c5 are about the same price..The vette is pushing 345 I believe, and the cobra 420 or so....But the vette is lighter, and handles better. I read the cobra is more reliable then the z06, but not sure about the c5, anyone know?

This is true, however a cobra is no joke as is, and responds to cheap mods extremely well. From what I've been reading, to hit 500+ is no more then a pulley swap, intake/exhaust, and a good tune.

Im pretty set on getting a cobra REAL soon, but still people can chime in

so clearly a vette has more potential.. if you supercharge a corvette it becomes something else

Re: moral dilemna

a cobra is pretty much a beefed up mustang GT..

a corvette is a car of its own plus if you sit in both i'm sure you'll go towards the vette

Re: moral dilemna

as long as it is a 97+ vette.....with the ls1....you throw a cam and heads in there with full exhaust and that will be easily over 450 and the 03 cobra has 375 to the wheels....honestly i have drove both and i have owned a ls6 and my buddy had a 03 cobra.....get the ls1.....you will like it better....easy as hell to get ALOT of power out of a ls1.....and his 03 was always crapping out somewhere.....weather his stock blower would blow seals or petty **** like ac going out......i spent 2000 modding the ls6 and was easily putting down 420+.....hope this helps out your decision....you wont be disapointed with the vette i can promise you that

Highly doubtful . A stock svt does not put out 400hp . And you are going to buy a used one with engine wear .

And the mods you talk of probably won't get you over 500hp , probably closer to 450hp , maybe . Remember this is a 4.6l and You are gonna have to rev this tiny motor pretty high to hit peak hp .

Re: moral dilemna

to get a cobra to 500 horse ur gonna have to do more than intake/pulley. your gonna have to pull your blower have it port and polished, smaller pulley, rechip the ecu, etc etc. also once u start pushing that kinda torque your going to realize that your susp is garbage and ur tires are bitches. so then u start blowing money on that side..nitto drags, coilovers bleh bleh..plus it is a ford = Found On Road Dead.

The corvette is N/A so it will take a lil more to get it going, but the ls1 responds VERY well to cams/head work and then get a lil frisky and throw a procharger F1 system on it. and i believe they claim a 16-28% increase in horsepower to the wheels. The LS1 is a beast when super/turbo charged. They have some problems just like the cobra does..just all in how you want to go bout it. cheap power first or cheap power last they both will run pretty close, but i think you will get more of a joy out of supercharging the LS1. :twocents
