I'm really really trying on the mental preparation thing, it's like I'll clutch up what feels like a huge wheelie only to have my buddies tell me it was 1-2 feet off the ground. Did most of you guys learn on dirt bikes? I'm thinking that if I had a 50 to use it would help a lot.
dont learn clutch ups, learn ti off the power first becuz with a clutch up learning u migh tloop. but doin it off the power will get u to the bp slower and more controlled.its not how high u go its how quick u get there. for example a buddy of myine got his tail section on a 2000 r6 about 6-8inches away from the ground with all throttle on the highway, cuz he hit bp then slowly went back a lil further and further. all this with no rear brake. but ive seen people panic and shut the throttle alot alot lower than he was because they snapped right into it fast.

Re: How quick did you learn to stunt??

its all about feel...if you dont feel right doin one sick *** trick then dont do it.... for example....when i learned tha christ i got straight to the tank no seat and held on to my windsheld for about a mile...my knees were shakin so bad it hurt really hurt...but then i just got a feeling that i could make it and went for it and it worked....if i was by my self prolly would have gotten right back down to my seat...but i was with acouple of my friend one of which is from onone....and if i didnt pull it off i would have never heard the end of it...one of those on goin jokes ....you know the ones like john go right up there with no problem but he pussied out... since then i got more and more tricks down and feel really safe and free doin it...so i guess my long azz store point is dont do anything unless you feel safe doin it....g-r-done... :YEAH

Same here, fiddy's will bite you HARD. Then again so will a peg through the head. Had 2 guys this year almost loose a foot due to theeir pegs crushing their feet in a slow crash. My advice is to work your way up to every trick slowly. You are better off taking the whole summer to learn the basics than to hurt yourself trying to pull off a trick that is over your head and missing the whole summer due to injury.

Re: How quick did you learn to stunt??

Well i just bought a bike about a month ago and some odd days, also my first bike ('94 Honda CBR600F2). My buddy has been riding for about a year now and has just gotten into stunting this season (also rides a 91 CBR), so naturally when i got my bike i wanted to do some of the things he could do. So he'd explain how to do it and how to start off and where to work at it from. Anyway...

I dont have anything down on lock yet, but i started bringing up stand ups today fer the first time, and have been doing sit downs since i practically got the bike, it really helped me to get tips from someone that has been through it all befor.
