Re: Hayabusa or Z1000
I ALREADY DID THE MATH!
I'm only goign tot have to pay 3500 dollars on top of my trade in which is already paid off. I know I have enough money.
As far as a 1000 being so much more difficult. the Z1000 (in my opinion) is easier to handle because of the upright "standard" riding position.

This was my rant, and I am threw now, and yes I am partial to Buses, I have 2 of them, but it burns me when people assume they don’t handle. I’d be scraping pegs if I didn’t run out of tire first.

I'm assuming the 1300 will be around 750 dollars a year for full coverage..

It will, with a good rider, both balance a wheelie, and indo, just not with me yet. Now for the reason for my intervention, “the Busa is hard as **** to turn as it is.” Have you ever ridden one? Bone stock it will corner better than the average rider will ever use. It is not a 600, no but for the price of a rear sprocket and some break lines, the average weight rider can make it corner just like a 600. The heaver rider will also need a set of fork springs, but for about $450 in parts, it’ll push well past the limits on the streets, and do quite well on the track. I haven’t made tit to the track yet, but on the streets, there are several people on here that can verify what I am saying, I can not only keep up but in post cases pull away from the 600 and 750 in the twisters, unless there is a skilled rider on board, and then I couldn’t keep up on a similar bike.

Here's the pros/cons so far.
Hayabusa
Pros: Heavy, full fairings and excellent aerodynamics, torquey, comfortable
Cons: Heavy, full fairings (if you wreck), very big (might be a tight squeeze in garage), more expensive.
Z1000
Pros: Good stunt bike, very comfortable with upright seating position and close handlebars, insurance is lower, no fairings (less damage if crashed), compact, handles better.
Cons: No fairings (wind), ugly colors, less aftermarket support.
Right now I'm thinking the Z1000 is best for me. It's lighter, handles better, less expensive and cheaper insurance. It's much better for stunting and will be easier to flick around town and park in my garage.

I really like those z1000's. I wish naked bikes would catch on stateside like they have in europe.
Have you looked at the FZ6's...it's not a liter bike but it has the same ergos and styling of the Z along with a fairing. You could probably trade in your gix6 and get that bike brand new for almost nothing.

I gotta go with Bigman on this one and say that anyone who thinks a busa is terrible in the corner is basically talkin ***!!
It might look like it cant handle and yes it does go very fast in a straight line but I have watched many a skilld rider just hand it to the lighter bikes on the twisties....I'm telling ya it aint that bad !
As far as the wheelies, well a gearing change is just what the doctor ordered.
Remember it came with tall gearing b/c it was a 200mph bike...
I have rolled a few km's on the back wheel..no worries at all...
Of course for endoz it sucks as well as the slow shiat would be a bit more difficult...
I have owned a zx11, zx12R, Busa and 2 gsxr1000's and other than the gixxer1'z the busa is runner up....That bike flat out handles just fine !!
Cheers

Re: Hayabusa or Z1000
how could you have 2600 posts and not know wtf your doing? I don't even think it's leagal for a 16 yr old to have a busa' and if you really have an f4i and a 05' 636 ,you're a lucky little booger plus a gixxer 600? why would you worry about stunting a monster touring bike ? something smells fishy here and not to be a meanie, but that picture looks extreemly rump-wranglerish

maybe in ST.louis, but in most of america you must be 16, and in new york you gotta be 18
in tennesse, you can ride ANYTHING at age 15, BEFORE you legally can drive.
