Re: F4I or 636
My concerns(in no specific order):
1. Durability
2. Parts availability
3. What mods need to be done
4. Best to learn on
I have the money right now to buy pretty much whatever sportbike I want, but I would like to stay about $5500 or under, I am going to be riding on the street and in parking lots, I would say 75% (Learning to) stunt, 25% street. I have been riding for 10 years this month, I can ride sitdown and standup whooolies as is, but I would really like to learn a lot more, so I sold my RC51 to buy an I4 bike. Whatever I buy is going to get probably 1 down 10 up, a cage and a bar.
Hopefully that tidbit of info will help to advise me what I should do...
right now I am leaning toward an 03' 636 with 3k on it (Still mint) and maybe selling the bodywork off of it.

the 636 is good if you don't mind taking care of a bike... if you just want a bike that's gonna last forever if you never change the oil and drop it 70 times a day, then the f4i might be for you.

1. Durability --- Honda is stronger
2. Parts availability --- Honda will have more parts avail cause they were made for more years
3. What mods need to be done --- both need a few mods
4. Best to learn on --- prolly the honda cause of the durability thing and the parts avail thing.
Like Nick said, i think the 636 is a better handling bike, better for more stuff, however, it NEEDS to be take care of or else you will be riding a fairingless, MX bike looking POS with broken rearsets really quick! LOL

for what you want and what you described, and for learning, the F4i is a better choice for you i think.
636 would still be a great choice though too.
here's the million dollar answer. I believe the 636 is a little better bike that requires a little more attention. are you willing to put that attention in or not?!??!

explain baby it
if you mean you want to be able to ride it hard, you can, either one
if you mean you want to be able to crash and throw the bike and let it tumble and it wont get wrecked, you CAN'T, not with either! LOL
i think the best answer would be that for learning, when you are crashing more, the F4i is better, then later, once you are comfortable with your skills, consider the move to 636.
