Stunting A Stock Bike?

Heyy whats up I'm from NYC and it seems in my local stunt area people are stunting and they are proud that they are doing it on a stock bike ie no 3rd brake or sprockets and well im torn between fitting in by riding a stock bike or going for a full fledged stunt bike. I would like a few opinions on this before i get my bike.

Re: Stunting A Stock Bike?

Don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

Point?

Ask yourself what you want to do, what fight you want to be in.

In my opinion nothing is cheating. It all helps you become a better proformer.
Only downfall I see is learning some tricks before really learning good throttle controll. I/E H/C or Spreaders with a handbrake.

I think you have earned your handbrake when you can do coasters over 300 feet or so...

Just my thoughts. But I am old school....

If ur gonna stunt, buy a stunt bike. They're cheaper and better than regular bikes anyway.

NY is the capital of trash talking and ball busting. I don't think you're safe from any form of ridicule as long as you live there regardless of what you decide to do.

score! i'm so in, actually gettin my hb welded today... but my bike is all stock.. it's an f4i.. no gearing, no hb (yet) and just a cut pipe.. only problem i have is almost stallin while turning.. my idle is at 3k.. and with stock gearing when u get it real slow and try to make semi sharp turns it wants to bog.. but stock is just fine, like schwartz said, it'll give you throttle control.. i bet it's harder learning with big gearing, makes the bike twitchy

Re: Stunting A Stock Bike?

Haha...I'll prolly just do a direct line into the caliper and not run duals but I gotta look for a 1k master.

Re: Stunting A Stock Bike?

learn bp wheelies and brake control stock. once you get there, consider gearing and all that jazz. HB only after you set a few off the pegs things on the tail or bar, definately get throttle control first.

Re: Stunting A Stock Bike?

if you have to ask random people what you want to do then i think the real question you should be asking yourself is, "why am i riding in the first place?"

Easy man, he is just asking a harmless question. He specifically said he wants to hear peoples opinions, pros or cons. Don't be a stuntlife snob.

My opinion= Ride stock.

For those that think you get extra points for pulling the same tricks on a stock bike?

Not with this judge...
