anyone stunting a 1000rr?

i've never really stunted on any bike before because i was never good enough until now. is it just me or is the balance point for wheelies on the 1000RR really high compared to other bikes?

anyone here stunt the 1000rr and can hold bp? any tips?

I've ridden a friends 1000, it balanced out pretty nice. I'd definately gear it though. Yes get a cage for it too.

Btw I stunt a R6.

Yeah the 1000RR is a totally different bike than the 929 and 54.

A copetitor this weekend stunted both the 954 and was on a 1000 this weekend for the first day since picking it up. Circles, endos, pretty much whatever. Comments about the hydraulic clutch though.

Guess ya'll shoulda came to Alabama.

Does that damper kick in when you're stunting, like if you got a tank slapper at 40 from setting a wheelie down crooked would it kick in or not.

actually i was suprised to find out that they dont however when you hit a corner you can tell its there, its a wierd feeling. It would on the other hand kick in if you if you put one down crooked at like 80 or so

The question is valid and actually I was right. It's cause the HESD doesn't continuously dampen but instead increase the dampening as your speed increases. Normally you wouldn't get a slapper until 60 or 70, but landing a wheelie crooked at 40 could have the same effect.

Re: anyone stunting a 1000rr?

yes it kicks in.... HESD saved my *** landing a crooked wheelie once. i DEFINATELY thought i was going down but after 3-4 seconds of VIOLENT headshake it just disappeared. i thanked the honda gods that day.

i know its nothing like the 954RR, i had one of those. i can hold wheelies on the 1KRR at like 10:30 for quite some time. i can power it up in 1st 2nd. i can clutch 2nd also (no need to clutch first).

i'm not getting a cage or a stuntbar for it.... i'm not a 100% stunter. i'm more of a canyon knee dragger/track guy, but i love endo's & wheelies.. i guess i just ride to have fun. i guess i just need to keep practicing til i find that sweet balance point and hold it...

Re: anyone stunting a 1000rr?

i rode my friends and i didnt like how it wheelied when you brought it up going slow. it would be going smooth and then when it hit the mid range it took off and was hard to stay smooth at first. and it wanted to tank slap everytime i did a fast endo. the front brakes are awesome, you could do an endo just using you pinky. but my friend stock 954 beat it in a race like everytime.

Re: anyone stunting a 1000rr?

i think maybe you just weren't used to it. i can wheelie it really smooth in first gear. thats weird it wanted to tank slap doing endos, the brakes are awesome though.

there's no way my 954 that had a PC3+devil slip on could hang with my 1000RR in terms of power though... 1000RR is much faster.

600rr and 10rr are set so low n forword that when u endo at BP it wants to tank slap, i caught myself not locking my arms or looking as far ahead as possible a bunch of times i got some endo slappers, lock those elbos and look hella forword n that will help a ton.
