Depends on much Slack is in your chain, if there isnt enough slack just add a couple of links to your chain.

Re: Quick question

I know a couple of people may say I don't belong here for asking this question but I am just starting out. What is a master link and were do I buy extra links for my chain? and how hard is it to add links to a chain? Thanks

Re: Quick question

a master link is a link in the chain that has a clip to hold it together rather than having the pin press fit in. the reason fir a master link is to easily take the chain on or off. you dont need any more than one on a chain and if its not a big deal to be able to remove the chain quickly its best to use a chain too and press fit the chain together on the bike. adding more master links wont make your chain any longer because it only takes the place of an outside link. to get extra links you can go to your local motercycle shop and the parts dept. should have them. your best bet though is to get a whole new chain. if you just put new links in with the old ones your going to wear the sprockets quicker. just tell the parts guy whats going on and theyll hook you up.
