Manny from Team Outermost's Hand Brake Setup
Ok. I have had many people PM me asking for some pics of my Hand Brake setup. I guess cause its Cheap ( like $6.00 for materials) + 48" steel braibed line + Lever of your choice. By the way on the 3rd pick make it JB Quick. Same thing, JB Weld but it dries in 5 Minutes. Set it on start molding it after like 1.5 minutes like if it was clay, Then within 5 minutes total time is dry.
Havent had any problems with this setup. The only disadvantage on this setup compared to a double caliper is that you need to fully realese on lever before pressing the other one. But it works good!!!
Check it out!!!,

thats some white boy engineerong right there
Re: Manny from Team Outermost's Hand Brake Setup
That's pimp. I made one up for about $30 Aussie and it was total rubbish
(or as the Cali boys would say "a total piece of wood")
Serves me right for thinking a cable setup would work

The GP tech setup works well and wont cost you very much either

I Agree with You & A lot of other people. Also there is that one that Merk Recommended too or is it the same?? They are only like $200. + they are more reliable being machined that way!!! My method is somewhat unsafe! You got to keep in mind that if your doing a trick that requires the HB & you are depending on it & it breaks for whatever reason, your bike is shooting back & **** could go wrong!! I personally would rather have one of those that Merk Recommended but this works for now!!!

Re: Manny from Team Outermost's Hand Brake Setup
those would be at:
fullthrottleinc.net
can wait for mine, in the mail as we speak.
no pumping needed like the GPTech, no superlong brake line like the two caliper setup, just a new MC that is stronger than the factory original and designed to withstand additional pressures applied by the handbrake. the only thing you need is your own lever setup

The GP tech adapter is only like 50 bucks or so.. and then you just need a brake line

Re: Manny from Team Outermost's Hand Brake Setup
hmmm, interesting. i've heard and seen them work well, everyone i talked to said you just need the initial pump. either way, the tolerances of the fullthrottleinc ones are higher and will not fade. my understanding of the gptech ones is that sometimes the seal is fine, sometiems it is not.
and, Bill at www.fullthrottleinc.net has been super cool in helping me out, unlike gptech and my 'other' sponsors who are affiliated with them...
to each his own i guess!

Yea.. just run what you trust...
Re: Manny from Team Outermost's Hand Brake Setup
First off, Bill is the man, very helpful/knowledgable.
The way Manny is describing his, it's just they way my fullthrottleinc.net one is. When you push your foot pedal, the hand lever changes possition a little, and vise versa, making it awkward to transition from foot to hand (fluid traveling back and forth in the lines).
I've heard the GP Tech is the same.. infact probably all systems that use one reservoir for two inputs will do that. But if you can lock up the rear, and dont have to pump it.. its all good.
Manny - have you ever had it fail? Loose pressure etc.?
