staggered standups

well i never felt comfortable trying to learn reg standups and sit downs it seems you have to go sooo high to hit bp to ride em out.

so the other day i got bored and i was like let me try staggered standups with foot on peg... WOW are these things great .. ive been trying front peg standups for like 2 weeks and nothing, 2 days of staggered and im starting to get to where i can ride them out.

im just looking for advice on these my friend said everytime i bring the bike up high i hit the brake and it comes back down ( brake control kicking in) im not sure how high i am but i feel im in more control this way .. so far no real noticible wobble or anything coming up or when i try and ride them so i guess thats good

anyone else skip front pegs and start with these ? any other tips or tricks i should know before i start trying to find bp and ride them out longer? lean back with bike or standup straight and let bike come to me ?

Re: staggered standups

whenever you ride pull them up and when the windscreeen is even with your chest you almost there
i ride bp standups left foot rear peg and when i rock them i dont even use the back brake so dont think that the only way to learn bp wheelies is rear brake i think the brake is just there for "in case" reasons
also work your motor and use engine braking to keep you up and everytime you ride dont try to get it up higher just try to go a LITTLE more than your last!!!! i think the prob with people learning bp wheelies is that they try to get to the bp to fast you have to let it come to you and if your bikes geared i think it makes it a lot harder becase their is more engine braking

i waiting on teva to get the shirts straight and im gonnna send one to ya

hope this helps holla at ya boy!!!!

Re: staggered standups

when i first started tryin wheelies i always did staggered, but this was befor i even knew how to wheelie barley so id get em up pretty decent but set it down right away. But ever since i started doin wheelies on the pegs i just dont do staggered i should try that.

But goin along with movistargixxer6 one night i noticed where BP was at from where i had previously been doin wheelies and it was much farther back, so the next time i did a wheelie i got to gung hoe and im surprised i didnt scrape cause it was a scary *** situation, bike came down all cooked and scared the crap outa me. So definatly take your time, scary things happen when you get to excited haha.

Cool, cool, can't wait to see the pic's.

Last night I was at one of the local spots practicing clutching it up....I know, I know...stop gasping. I'm getting there. The spot that I was at only allows for a small distance, so it's time to learn some of the slow stuff.

About the foot peg, I've hear that people add the pin as well. I just make sure that everytime I go for a stand-up, that I verify that the rear peg is down as much as possible.

ya i always double check and make sure its down before i pick it up , i just never understood what people meant when they said it folded up and why they put a pin in it

Well, I've been doing clutch-ups for the past couple of days and it's coming along, but I still need a lot of practice.

Where is that video from this past weekend????

Re: staggered standups

I like staggered for distance... My arms don't get tired... And one of my freinds can rock wheelies on the rear pegs for miles... But can't do a normal standup... he thinks he is gonna fall off the back! lol

Re: staggered standups

I used to feel that way... But i started "locking" my knees.. And keeping my knees off the tank.. One day i just leaned back, and bounced it up.. and I felt confortable enough to ride it for a while... The day before I could only do staggered's... weird..

P.S. These are 2nd-3rd gear wheelies... I still don't feel confortable at all in 1st on the front pegs! lol
