F4i is fuel injected, thats about as much education i have in them.

 

One has a long,homo,banana seat and the other doesn't

 

I am looking at both of them and they look the same enless sombody screwed up and forgot to put the i on the f4i

 

they are the same f4i is fuel injected

 

the f4 is not fuel injected the f4i is, which means that there is alot more wiring and electrical concerns on a f4i. kinda a bitch if u wanna put a streetfighter front end on it cuz theres so many wires. also the f4i will run on the bar, it wont flood or stall, also it wont stall after coasters, or tryin to do rodeo burnouts. the engine and evverything else is basically the same. any other ?'s post up or pm me.

I read somewhere that the coolant reservoir is different or in a different place

 

Subframe is different, rear pass. pegs mount differently, tank is diff, the fuel pump bolts on the tank (F4i) rather than the frame (F4), front end (Upper, fairing stay, windscreen, ram air tubes), air box is different, tail is diff, seats,...

alot of its interchangable, but there are small differences.

www.cbrworld.net used to have a list of all interchangable parts.. I cant find it now so I guess its not helpful.

 

So is the f4 more like the f3 than the f4i, cause it looks like the f3 with a face lift

 

No, its an F4. The F3 is an F2 with a facelift. F4/F4i are almost identical, very small differences.

 

Cool thanks alot guys, it is kinda silly why would honda make 2 bikes just alike but one fuel injected and one not, why would you buy a f4?? when you can have the same bike fuel injected...

 

Cause it's cheeper, and easier to work on

yeah i would go for the f4i...... where in pa are you from?

 

f4 was 99 and 00...f4i was 01, 02, and 03...redesigned in 04 with the euro/f4 tailsection

 

No one was really using fuel injection back in '99 except Suzuki. R6's werent fuel injected until '03.. honda started its FI in '01. FI is hard to get right on smaller engines, its been on cars forever, but bikes were a diff. story. Suzuki got it right and everyone followed.

F4 - 1999-2000

F4i - 2001-200X

 

wangsta.. im from allentown.... during the riding season i usually go up to stroudsburg but i think thats pretty much over now...

 

hey i've recently bought a 00 cbr 600 f4 and i'm missing my air box i'm looking online and i've found a 01 cbr 600 f4i air box will that still fit correctly ?

 

Its not gonna be a direct fit, but pretty close. I know the air tubes are different but you dont really need them anyway.
