does anyone know if it is possible to get the triple tree off with the bike in a locked position? it is a 04 r1

 

I don't believe so. Yamaha has some sort of "safety" I think to keep would-be thieves from removing the clamp in the locked position. At least that's what I was told by a shop when my bike was stolen.

 

the lock goes right in to the frame so grind the frame or bust the lock top off or find the key

 

Take a small screwdriver, slam it into the key hole, and turn the bitch with everything you've got.. also you can try having your freind kick the dogshit out of the right clipon while you hold the bike up. Maybe it will break. I dunno, never stole er.... had this problem before. Good luck either way... I would suggest NOT doing either of those... try the key. If you lost it. I hope you wrote your number down. you can call and order new keys.
