I've been stock, then -2+2, then -2+8, then +20, then -2+20, then back to +20, now I'm putting just the +8 on it. Too hard to be smooth without having the idle turned up for slow stuff. For engine brake on a 1000 you need a serious gear, +20 isn't enough to bring it off the bar unless your moving 30mph plus. You don't NEED it for slow stuff with the idle up but it helps if you aren't super easy on the brake. Ideal setup is 10-15up and a handbrake.

i am stock in front and up 8 in back now ,before i was down 2 and up 8
i guess i just need to get the hang of it because i have a 04 1000 to cruse on and a 01 to stunt and whan i looped the 01 that was the first time i rode it in like 3-4 weeks so wait for the bone to heal and start over

hes rocking slow stuff in parking lots
i think he just havent learned idle,brake and bike control he can pull it up and tap the bar but he cant just rock super slow ones or slow them down
he thinks its the gearing that messing him up

correct me if im wrong brianNa, its not gearing. I know this dude that will jump on any bike stock and rock out idle sh*t within seconds. If youre stock geared your not gonna be able to run on your idle really slow, you have to go a lil bit faster or you will stall it out and face plant in your windshield. Just practice, ull get it...
