sit down circles
well, I finally got stand up circles, and now its time to move to sit downs. Does anyone have any good tips on rocking these things? Same technique as stand ups, or a totally different ballgame? I can get about two before I speed up or fall in. Teach, Sillyneck, anyone?

Re: sit down circles
you have to have MAD clutch slippage....if not, then you will stall or just spin too fast to control the bike/hang on.
i like to come in really slow and then as it turns it, i try to keep it nice and smooth (kinda hard, sometimes i fall in becasue i am going too slow) using the clutch/gas/brake.
same basic idea as any other cirlce, just diff body pos. experiment with your body, i found i like to scootch up toward the gas tank when doing them, when i sit all the way back agains the rear seat, they go around in a downward spiral and i can't really control them-although for one hadners that is what i have to do.....
remember, much more clutch action (unless you are really smooth like JB) because you have less body leverage to move around on the bike....
and no it doesnt matter if you lean in or sit on top---i find that if i sit on top of the bike that it wants to highside really easy, but that is how i keep them nice and smooth:::if i lean in i get a whip action and have to clutch out and do ovals kinda like...
zannmann's clip (if you have it) has some decent sitdowns and you can see what i'm talking about with the ovals-same thing with the JB/Darius clip
you got it!

Teach, I'm gonna have to get you a CASE of beer soon. I watched both clips, and I have played with the clutch. Now I am more confident knowing what to do- thank you again, Sir.

well, I was all fired up to go out tonight, but it dropped to about 38 degrees here. I guess I'm gonna have to wait 'till the end of this week. I am starting to dislike Michigan.

Re: sit down circles
dragging my inside foot is hard cuz i can't reach the ground very easily-i also like to pull myself nearer to the tank and hold on hard with my hands. chauncey does them foot down and i swear he could eat a meal while doing it-he is also a lot more lanky. i'd say save foot down for later, but who knows!

Re: sit down circles
i just started doing those this weekend. They are scary but fun to try all at the same time.
I was using a lot of clutch slipping and using throttle to whip around. This method only worked for 1 complete sit down to the right. Most on the time i was doing 180's or 270's, so i know my technique is off.
oh yeah, i lean back on the seat.
Keep preaching it Teach!

Re: sit down circles
Is there anyone here in surrounding Georgia that has these circle wheelies down? I need some serious coaching. Just need someone to watch me and tell me what i need to do and what I am doing right so far.

Re: sit down circles
Im so sick of circles, well its cuase I dont have them consistant at all. I can do 1/2 sitting / 1/2 standing at most out of 10 half circle attempts. I was told the first dip is the hardest than you just spin around...buts its the 2nd turn after the firest dip that really gets to me, I have no problem going into the turn. I dont really slip the clutch, but Im gonna try that, cuase I do stall alot....
Im on a 954/ or my 929 -1 down stock rear gearing with about 3,000 rpm of idle.
Do you think it will be easier with sprocket?
